Transport scores lag Zuid because of dependence on the IJ ferry connection to Central Station, though the ferry travel time itself is short. Amenity density has increased as the area's residential population has grown.
Noord represents one of Amsterdam's clearest cases of a livability-to-cost ratio advantage — scores that are competitive with established areas, at lower housing costs, because the reputation hasn't fully caught up with the data.
